Body composition needs vary between sports, seasons, and individuals. In some cases, periodization of body composition can be beneficial to balance health and performance demands. An individualized approach will be taken to identify if and how body composition optimization can take place.
Body composition can be a better indication of progress than merely scale weight as it gives a better picture of increased muscle gain and/or fat loss and is less affected by fluctuations and hormone levels.
It should be noted that body composition is only one piece of the nutrition puzzle, and during our nutritional assessment, other health and performance priorities may be identified. Body composition assessments are not a compulsory part of therapy and may not be appropriate in all situations and age categories.
